LOCTITE® SI 5926 is a blue, acetoxy-silicone paste for gasket replacement or gasket dressing, typically on applications like valve covers, timing-gear covers, differential covers, oil pans, transmission pans, water pumps and thermostat housings. LOCTITE SI 5926 cures when exposed to moisture in the air to form a flexible, silicone rubber gasket. Due to its flexible nature, it enhances the load-bearing and shock-absorbing characteristics of the bond area. It also resists aging, weathering and thermal cycling without hardening, shrinking or cracking.
- Very low strength for ease of disassembly
- Room-temperature vulcanizing (RTV) cure
- Service/operating temperature: -54°C to 204°C (-65°F to 399°F)
- Enhances load-bearing and shock-absorbing properties of bond area
